The project task was to design a 5000sqm Hospitality College. The site was located on an existing parking lot along two main roads, neighbouring the site was a go kart arena that belonged to a resort hotel nearby the beach not to far from the site.

There are two ways people learn, socially by theory (group think in classrooms ) and the second is by personal reference experience ( by doing ). So since this was a College for Hospitality, the best way to learn these outcomes is by an immersive learning environment. Whereby the college will be tailored in a way that it resembles an actual simulation of a hotel resort. This is meant to keep students constantly immersed in the industry culture, so when they are in-field, everything is more relate-able and has been integrated into them. This is done by designing the layout of the interiors, classes, hallways, lobbies and restaurants just like that of a hotel resort.

This is done by designing the layout of the interiors, classes, hallways, lobbies and restaurants just like that of a hotel resort. As for the noise pollution from the go-kart arena, I created sound buffers with spaces that are noise tolerant as well as intensive outdoor landscaping and water features to create a micro-climate, which creates white noise to drown out the go-karts, cools the area down by evaporation and aids in rain water harvesting.

We are releasing a link to our Issuu publication for a more detailed portfolio which will be coming soon.
